About Us

The Forest Estate Community Hub opened in October 2012 and is managed by The Journey Church in partnership with residents, schools, charities, agencies and local government including Runnymede Borough Council.

Our Aim

is to provide an inclusive & attractive environment where all residents of the Forest Estate, especially children and young people, can access helpful services, enjoyable activities and a space everyone can use for social events, clubs & ventures - acting as a catalyst for raising individual and community aspirations and building pride in our Estate.

The Forest Estate Community Hub is situated in the heart of Englefield Green West on the outskirts of Windsor Great Park and within easy reach of the A30 and M25.

Complete with ample parking facilities the Hub boasts a large hall with stage, fully equipped kitchen and a community garden to relax in. Wi Fi is freely available and there is disabled access to all areas.

It is an ideal venue for a wide range of events including parties, clubs and societies, family celebrations, indoor sporting activities as well as business and team events.

co-ordinates repairs to Heather Drive (a private road) together with
related lighting, signs, drainage and insurance, all of which are paid
for by the residents. It also promotes a neighbourly spirit, and keeps
watch out for building development which could be detrimental.

Heatherside Church was established in 1977 by a group from St. Paul's Camberley who saw the need for a Christian presence on the estate. When plans for the area were originally made, the intention was to have a community centre and church separately. After some discussion the suggestion was made to combine the two in one building as both parties were there to service the needs of the area. So it was in 1981 that the Heatherside Community Centre and Church was opened.

The church's role is very much intertwined with the community. We still use Heather Ridge School (where we first started meeting in 1977) on a Sunday morning for our childrens work, and we produce a joint publication with the Community Association called Newslink three times a year. There is now a church office in the centre to provide information and support.

The church itself is ecumenical, serving all denominations on the estate, but with an Anglican/Methodist base.

High Cross is an "evangelical" United Reformed/Methodist Church and offers you a warm welcome. At High Cross, we offer a wide range of church services, an active Junior Church for children of all ages and a variety of mid-week activities. Full details can be found in our Church Magazine Crosstalk which is published monthly. We hope that High Cross Church can play its part in helping you to enjoy discovering the life which God offers us through Jesus Christ and that you will find your involvement to be both exciting and rewarding.

Our aim is to provide good Christian worship, teaching and fellowship for all ages at the centre of Community life. Activities include : Sunday worship, toddlers? group, mens? breakfast, Mothers? A charity providing help to familes in times of need. Run by volunteers who will provide support to familes in need.

Acts as interface between Chamber and Runnymede Council.

Just Advocacyis an independent organisation committed to the highest standards of advocacy practice on behalf of people with learning disabilities and other vulnerable groups.

We offer independent advocacy services, facilitated self advocacy groups and resources for people with learning disabilities in West Surrey, North East Hampshire and BracknellForest.

In addition Just Advocacy provides Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy (IMCA) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding (DOLS) services in West Surrey and North East Hampshire; Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) in North East Hampshire; Person Centred Planning support for people with learning disabilities in North East Hampshire; and Training Services for people with learning disabilities in Bracknell Forest.

Established in 1994 now in our own spacious refurbished premises in Bagshot with good outdoor space and access to playing fields.
