The VWCA represents the interests of all the residents of Virginia Water and you are invited to join the association. See below for more details of VWCA and membership.
What is VWCA?
The Virginia Water Community Association is a registered charity (registered number 274809) "providing facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisuretime occupation for the inhabitants of Virginia Water and the neighbourhood". Set up in 1947, it built a Community Centre in 1950 which was replaced in 1994, financed by local support and fund-raising with assistance from Runnymede Borough Council, Surrey County Council.
What does VWCA do?
- The Management Committee administers the Community Centre in Beechmont Avenue including lettings and upkeep
- The Social Sub-Committee organises monthly social events (See events option above for monthly programme)
- The Carnival Capers Sub-Committee co-ordinates an annual fête on the last Saturday in June for the whole village
- A Horticultural, Handicraft, Cookery And Home-made Wine Show is held on the first Saturday in September
- The VW Horticultural Society and Wine Circle are constituent members of the VWCA
What does membership of VWCA offer?
- A chance to get to know your neighbours
- News of what is happening in the district
- Reduced rates of admission to most of the monthly social events and coach outings organised by VWCA
- An opportunity to use the swimming facilities at Trumps Green School during the summer, through purchase of a season ticket Annual fee £3 (individual) or £5 (family)
